JOB DUTIES
1. Collaborates with all involved parties (executive management, customers, operations teams, business partners and other s) to lead the definition and design of technology solutions.
2. Monitors and evaluates industry best practices.
3. Evaluates business requirements and technology at a detailed level in order to determine appropriate technical solutions
3. Serves as a network subject matter expert and lead designer on technology projects.
4. Develops strategic network plans. Ensures processes match changes in technology.
5. Communicates complex system designs to senior management and the user community.
6. Serves as a mentor to operational and solutions staffs.

ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
IT related college degree or equivalent experience. Extensive experience designing Network Solutions. 7+ years experience with enterprise / corporate level networks
Network certification or equivalent training/experience preferred such as CCNP, CCIE
Must have network routing protocol troubleshooting skills including: BGP, OSPF, and MPLS
In-depth experience deploying serial connections, Sonet, T1, T3, Ethernet connections
Experience resolving and troubleshooting test and turn up issues with carrier based solutions and circuits
Knowledge and experience with a broad base of routers and switches
Extensive experience with Multicast, 802.3, 802.1q and Spanning Tree
Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPSec, POS, PPP, VRRP, HSRP, and SNMP protocols
Knowledge of Firewalls, NAT, and UNIX
Operational experience with security issues and access control mechanisms
Knowledge of standard network change management and configuration policies
Experience with network monitoring and other network administrative tools
Assist in the development of production infrastructure documentation standards
Support implementation of network infrastructure
Must have the ability to work closely with other team members, and independently
Highly organized and detailed orientated
