Summary of Responsibilities:
- Lead will be responsible for complex and highly integrated software systems in a fast-paced development environment- Must be very experienced at developing test strategies, writing test plans and leading a test team in the writing and execution of application, integration, system and regression test cases- Estimating test effort and managing testing schedules to align with overall project timelines- Coordinating all aspects of a system test including environment setup- Directing the work of other testers as well as manually executing test cases and documenting testing results- Proactively identify issues, risks and, variances from expected results while providing resolution suggestions and mitigation strategies- Working closely with clients develop and oversee execution of UAT plans- Reporting testing status to management- Facilitating defect review meetings- Participating actively in process improvement for the department when required- Training/mentoring new team members- Will need to manage an offshore team. Offshore experience will be a plus- Might be needed to travel to the offshore team 2 times a year for a week - 10 days
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related technical field- 5 to 7 years of SQA experience- Team lead experience is required
Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Knowledge of J2ee architecture is important- Knowledge of Rational functional testing tool is a must- Prior development experience in J2ee will be preferred.- Ability to prioritize and multitask is critical- Ability to decompose requirements into testable requirements rapidly under less than ideal requirements conditions- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external teams- Candidate must be able to clearly communicate in English both verbally and in writing- Complete understanding of SQA processes and methodologies as well as how to implement them throughout the SDLC- Experience writing SQL queries against Oracle- Experience testing Java-based three-tier applications deployed on Linux- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office- Experience using TestPartner or any automation tool a plus- Experience with open-source testing tools, i.e. TPTP, a plus- Experience using DB2 a plus- Experience using the Mainframe a plus- Experience with Bladelogic a plus- Experience using UC4 a plus- Experience using Rational tools a plus- Experience testing high volume financial exchange systems, particularly clearing applications, a big plus
