JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Unix Systems Admistrator with experience in maintaining large distributed environments. Own the overall stability and enhancement of the UNIX environment. Work closely with Unix Engineering to develop and implement enhancements to the environment (including product deployment). Resolve complex problems that arise in the environment and provide a permanent solution. Identify problems, limitations and potential enhancements to the Unix environment and provide recommendations to engineering. Oncall support (including overnight) and weekend work. Continue development of Unix technical skills.

SKILLS
Required: VCS, VxVM, San s, large scale disk arrays NAS Storage Devices A detailed understanding of programming concepts and data structures. In depth knowledge of Solaris and Linux (Red-hat). Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP and associated technologies (NFS, NIS, ) Programming level knowledge of at least Korn Shell and perl. Ability to debug complex problems.
Desired: Detailed knowledge of AFS concepts and administration. (not essential) Excellent knowledge of Unix, its underlying concepts and internals, including the ability to analyse crash and core dumps Knowledge of large scale server moves / data center moves
