PURPOSE OF JOB:
Provides analytical, technical and administrative expertise in the life cycle of information technology solutions and systems software. This is the fully qualified level position in the Programmer/Analyst hierarchy.

JOB DUTIES:
Begins consulting with business partners to understand current and future business needs requiring a technology solution. Assists with the development of requirements and specification documents.
Assists in the development of business and technical criteria to be used in the evaluation of products in the marketplace. Assists with the integration of externally acquired software into the processing environment.
Applies a broad understanding of system environments, databases and utilities in analyzing, designing, developing, testing, debugging and implementing new systems or modifications to existing systems.
Identifies and analyzes system and application problems. Determines
solutions; develops, tests and implements fixes.
Guides and fosters growth of peers and less experienced Software/Systems Engineers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
IT related college degree or equivalent experience.
3-5 years relevant work experience in systems or software development life cycle
Working knowledge with Object-Oriented design and development
Working knowledge with Java, Jsp, Javascript and internet/component-based development

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
5-7 years relevant work experience in systems or systems development life cycle.
Knowledge of IBM"s Websphere environment and IBM Java development tools.
UML/Rational modeling and design.
Experience with J2EE, Servlet, EJBs and WebServices.
Experience with Ajax.
Experience with Software Configuration Management Tools.
Experience contributing to project planning, estimating, scheduling, and execution.
Experience in application design skills.
Knowledge of agile methodology and iterative development.
Knowledge or interest in the investment industry.
