PURPOSE OF JOB:
The selected individual will be responsible for providing analytical, technical and administrative expertise in the life cycle of information technology solutions and systems software. He/she will install and support mainframe system software in a complex highly available parallel sysplex environment while quickly diagnosing and resolving software operational and performance issues to prevent system outages, or rapidly resume service to ensure that service-level objectives are met. This professional will find and implement opportunities to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the mainframe platform in the enterprise as a component in multi-tiered applications, will ensure assigned products are maintained at supported release levels following established maintenance procedures and schedules, will review and apply appropriate critical vendor fixes, and will ensure products are deployed within contracted license terms. This person will also provide effective on-call support to maximize availability and stability of the mainframe environment, support occasional night and weekend implementation duty, and be willing to work after hours support shifts.

Required:
Three years Systems Programmer experience in an IBM z/OS (MVS) parallel sysplex environment installing and supporting system software.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Experience leading informal teams in identifying, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
Self-motivated, team oriented and able to operate with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of Systems Management concepts, design, installation and technical troubleshooting.
Excellent organizational and customer service skills.
Ability to work in a team environment producing deliverables according to plan following established processes.
Overtime and On-call Duty required.
IT related Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
